Serve Wyoming exists for “The enhancement of community and the empowerment of citizens through the development and promotion of service opportunities. To accomplish this mission, ServeWyoming promotes collaborative efforts among private, non-profit and governmental agencies and organizations at the municipal, county, and state level that will advance community service, volunteer programs and activities. ServeWyoming is centrally located in beautiful Casper, WY. Casper offers the best of what you are looking for with gorgeous mountainous terrain just right for hiking and exploring, lakeside water activities, winter sporting opportunities (skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling), ample hunting and fishing all with the comfort of small-town life and access to major highways and the international airport for travel. The VISTA Leader position offers the opportunity for former national service members (those who have completed a full term with AmeriCorps, NCCC, VISTA or Peace Corps) to engage in a return to service in the unique “wild” west that is Wyoming. They will have the opportunity to build strong networks and travel across this amazing state as well as advanced training opportunities both locally and nationally. Be a part of a wonderful Wyoming venture, forming a statewide network of service aimed at alleviating poverty in Wyoming. This program helps communities and individual organizations with capacity building issues related to volunteer support services. Member Duties : The VISTA Leader will expand and enhance the project success and sustainability by recruiting VISTA members, orchestrating trainings, maintaining regular communication with VISTAs, and promoting member success stories. The VISTA Leader will support the activities of VISTAs who are working to alleviate poverty by building capacity in their sites.
