Member Engagement & Database Intern

Location: Remote
Hours: 5-10 hours per week (flexible around class schedules)
Duration: Semester-based / 3–6 months;
Reports to: Chief Engagement Officer

America’s Service Commissions is a nonprofit association supporting the network of 52 Governor designated state service commissions, which administer AmeriCorps State programs and promote volunteering in their respective states and territories.

About the Role

Are you organized, detail-oriented, and interested in learning how nonprofits operate behind the scenes? As our Database & Donor Engagement Intern, you’ll help keep our member records accurate and support fundraising and engagement efforts that make our mission possible.

This is a great opportunity for individuals who want hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, fundraising, and data management.

What You’ll Do

Database & Organization

  • Update and organize member records in our database
  • Help clean up duplicate or outdated information
  • Enter data from events, donations, and campaigns

Donor Engagement Support

  • Help prepare thank-you emails and letters
  • Strategize potential ways to increase our individual/peer fundraising
  • Support fundraising campaigns and event outreach

Nonprofit Operations Experience

  • Support basic reporting for fundraising efforts
  • Help improve organization systems and processes
  • Work on special projects that support our work

What We’re Looking For

  • Current college student or recent graduate
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable using Google Sheets or Excel
  • Willingness to learn new systems (CRM experience is a plus, but not required)
  • Dependable and able to handle confidential information responsibly
  • Interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, or operations

Compensation

$15 per hour on a contractual basis. ASC is also willing to accommodate classroom credit requirements in lieu of a stipend, as applicable.
