America’s Service Commissions is a nonprofit association supporting the network of 52 Governor designated state service commissions, which administer AmeriCorps State programs and promote volunteering in their respective states and territories.

About the Role

Are you creative, social media–savvy, and passionate about making a difference? As our Social Media Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience managing content, engaging with our community, and supporting campaigns that drive real impact.

This is a great opportunity for students who want practical experience in nonprofit marketing, communications, or digital media while building a strong portfolio.

What You’ll Do

  • Help plan and schedule content primarily for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Assist in the production of ASC’s newsletter and other large audience emails
  • Create graphics, write captions, and assist with short-form video content
  • Highlight our members, events, and impact stories
  • Support awareness initiatives through social media
  • Monitor comments and messages and help engage with our online community
  • Research trends, hashtags, and new ideas to keep content fresh and relevant
  • Track engagement metrics and help report on performance
  • Assist with email marketing and other digital outreach projects

What We’re Looking For

  • Current college student or recent graduate (Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred)
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable using social media platforms personally or professionally
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe, CapCut, or similar tools is a plus (but not required)
  • Creative, dependable, and open to feedback
  • Interest in nonprofit work and community impact

Compensation

$15 per hour on a contractual basis. ASC is also willing to accommodate classroom credit requirements in lieu of a stipend, as applicable.
