Position Summary & Responsibilities:
The Kansas Volunteer Commission is a program of the Kansas State Department of Education. It is guided by a bi-partisan board of directors appointed by the Governor. The mission of the Commission is to empower all Kansans to meet community needs through service. To achieve this mission, the Commission administers grants to the AmeriCorps and Volunteer Generation Fund programs in Kansas, and encourages volunteerism, civic engagement and mentoring. This position serves as Executive Director of the Commission and includes responsibility for program development; community outreach; and maintaining diverse, strategic partnerships that support the initiatives of the Commission.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of experience in a field directly related volunteerism, civic engagement, mentoring, program development, community outreach or a related area that meets the needs of the agency. A degree is not required, but can be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Experience in working with programs under AmeriCorps or school-based mentoring.
Compensation: $2,842.70 biweekly
